Description
Diospyros whyteana or bladdernut is usually a shrub with attractive shiny and sparsely hairy leaves, growing under bigger trees. It has more illustrious relatives in the Diospyros genus, like the jakkalsbessie (Afrikaans) or ebony diospyros. The sepals join to create the fruit shape that led to the bladdernut name. A worthwhile item to consider for the garden.
