Description
Asparagus aethiopicus is usually a robust woody and spiny climber in bushy scrub at the coast and inland from Namaqualand to the Eastern Cape. It has hooked spines, narrow flat leaves, creamy white flowers from summer until winter and red berry-like fruits with one or more seeds. It is one of the most significant garden escapees invading big parts of the Australian coastline.
