Description
Saltera sarcocolla or vlieëbos in Afrikaans (meaning flies bush), is a shrub with erect stems and leathery, rounded or diamond-shaped, overlapping leaves. The flowerheads containing up to six glossy pink flowers on the branch tips, have sticky yellow bracts at the base. The distribution area of this plant is sandstone fynbos slopes in the south-western corner of the Western Cape. Blooming occurs from late winter into summer (Bean and Johns, 2005; Manning, 2009).
