Image information

Description

The dry remains of a Glottiphyllum carnosum fruit capsule consists of a flattish dark basal bowl formed by the calyx, over which a beige conic section presides, lacking its tip.

Six opened valves and closing bodies remain in place, the capsule held in position by the short stalk emerging from the branch base (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
