Image information

Description

Polygala myrtifolia may flower abundantly in spring, while some flowering does happen throughout the year. The often purple flower has a keeled and crested central, lower petal between two spreading petal-like wing sepals.

Varieties of the plant include sparsely branched and small tree forms, apart from the common, evergreen, rounded shrubs (Manning, 2009; Mustart, et al, 1997).
