Aloe striata buds grow on a sturdy peduncle that is about cylindrical, at least higher up. It sometimes curves in parts as the one in picture. The peduncle is greenish brown at this stage, later usually purplish.
The panicle branches are here green and nearly globose, each subtended by a fairly big, pointed bract. The individual buds have smaller bracts with attenuating tips, each branch seen here consisting of the beginnings of several flowers.
The shape changes in the inflorescence are interesting and quite dramatic at this stage, even when compared over a short period. Take pictures on a daily basis at the same time, for instance (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Reynolds, 1974; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist).
