The flowers of Dierama dracomontanum normally dangle in pendulous fashion from a slender spike; here held up for the photo. Flower colour varies from rose pink, purplish pink to red or coral, in light or dark shades. The flowers are funnel-shaped with pointed tepals in radially symmetrical arrangement. The style tip is divided into three stigma branches.
Pollinators for this genus are mostly bees (www.rareplants.co.uk; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
