This Salvia africana-caerulea plant was found in flower during December west of Vryburg in North West Province.
The corolla appears to be nearly hairless on the outside of the upper lip, unlike other common forms of the plant. The calyces are hairy and possibly the corollas of partly open buds.
The lower corolla lips on the freshly opened flowers are white and broad; deeper blue on the older ones lower down.
The leaves are toothed and have coarse upper surfaces (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
