Syncarpha vestita, commonly known as Cape snow, Cape everlasting or Kaapse sewejaartjie (Afrikaans), is a sturdy, erect and much branched shrublet of up to 1 m in height.
It grows in the south coast fynbos of the Western Cape on sandstone rocky slopes and flat land. This is often the dominant plant in its fynbos veld during the first few years after a fire.
This plant was photographed in the Salmonsdam Nature Reserve during mid-January in an area that had burned a few years before (Bean and Johns, 2005).
